Today we’ll take a closer look at applying eyeshadow properly. Eyeshadow is a versatile makeup product that can enhance your eyes and elevate your overall look. It might seem like an easy product to apply, but until you take it seriously, you will never look good!

Step 1: Prepare Your Eyes

  1. Start with a clean and moisturized eyelid. Remove any residual makeup or oil using a gentle makeup remover or micellar water.
  2. Apply an eyeshadow primer to create a smooth base and make your eyeshadow last longer. This step also helps to prevent creasing and fading.

Step 2: Choose Eyeshadow Colors for Your Skin Tone

  • Fair Skin Tone: Soft, light shades work best for fair skin. Opt for pastel colors like pale pinks, peaches, soft browns, and light taupes. Avoid extremely dark shades, as they can overpower your fair complexion.
  • Medium Skin Tone: Medium skin tones can carry off a wide range of eyeshadow colors. Earthy tones like warm browns, bronze, and gold look stunning. Jewel tones such as emerald green, sapphire blue, and amethyst purple can also complement medium skin tones beautifully.
  • Olive Skin Tone: Rich and warm shades work well with olive skin tones. Go for olive greens, burnt oranges, deep bronzes, and coppers. Cool-toned purples and grays can also create a striking contrast.
  • Dark Skin Tone: Darker skin tones can rock bold and vibrant colors. Metallic shades like gold, copper, and bronze pop beautifully on dark skin. Jewel tones like royal blue, deep purple, and emerald green are also stunning choices.

Step 3: Eyeshadow Application

  1. Base Color: Apply a neutral base color that matches your skin tone all over your eyelid. This helps to even out the skin and create a smooth canvas for the other shades.
  1. Crease Color: Take a slightly darker shade than your base color and apply it to the crease of your eyelid. Use windshield-wiper motions with a fluffy brush to blend the color back and forth.
  2. Lid Color: Apply your chosen lid color on the center of your eyelid using a flat brush or your fingertip. This shade should be slightly shimmery or metallic to add dimension to your eyes.
  3. Outer Corner and Lower Lash Line: Use a deeper shade in the outer corner of your eyelid and blend it gently towards the center. Extend a little of this color along your lower lash line to define your eyes.
  4. Highlighter: Apply a light, shimmery shade to your brow bone and the inner corner of your eyes. This step brightens your eyes and creates a more awake appearance.

Step 4: Blending and Final Touches

  1. Blend, blend, blend! Blending is the key to achieving a seamless and professional eyeshadow look. Use a clean blending brush to soften any harsh lines and ensure a smooth transition between colors.
  1. Check for symmetry and balance between both eyes. Make any necessary adjustments to ensure your eyeshadow looks even.
  1. Clean up any fallout or excess eyeshadow using a makeup wipe or cotton swab.

Step 5: Complete Your Eye Makeup Look

  • Eyeliner: You can opt for a subtle eyeliner close to your lash line for a more natural look, or create a winged eyeliner for a more dramatic
